Teaching direct speech and indirect speech as structure, language function as dialogue, and pronunciation practice as stress on the first syllable.

General goals 

The students should be acquainted with:

1. Verb+ object+ infinitive in differences sentences.

2. Direct speech and indirect speech in sentences.

3. How to change direct speech into indirect speech.

4. Using dialogues about transportation.

                                 5. The words with stress on the first syllable.

 

Partial objectives

Learners should be able :

1. To show the place of "infinitive form" in the sentences.

2. To know the verbs followed by an infinitive form as ask, tell, try….:

- They ask us to help them.

-  I will allow John to turn on the TV.

3. T o underline "Verb+ object+ infinitive form" in the passage.

4. To know the sentences in quotation marks"  "as direct speech:

- The teacher told us," Answer the questions orally".

5. To change this sentence into indirect speech:

-The teacher told us to answer the questions orally.

6. To use infinitive form in indirect speech.

7. To mark sentences with direct speech and indirect speech in the reading passage.

8. To say the other examples with "Verb+ object+ infinitive form "

, direct speech and indirect speech.

9. To construct the sentences in different situations.

10. To answer the questions about transportation such as" I go by bus. I drive".  

11. To recognize stress on the first syllable of the words such as "Program, Happy, Dictionary".

Teacher's activities

All the students should be divided into groups of four or five students either the same or different duties;

1. Individual activities; listening, repeating (for language function and pronunciation practice), making the examples, answering the questions (grammatically and for language function).

2. Group activities; activities in a group, helping her classmates in a group, giving a fine correction to their mistakes, answering the questions as final evaluation(filling gaps, multiple choices), doing some class exercises, reading aloud for correct pronunciation (at the end asking individuals randomly).

                  Final evaluation

1. The teacher must seriously be careful not to do all the exercises in the classroom. The next session the teacher should patiently see and examine their homework carefully.
